The Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe
Our Saturday session falls on the feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The Franciscan Friars that live here at San Damiano Retreat belong to the Province of Our Lady of Guadalupe. There is a rich history in this story – a simple invitation to deepen our trust in the marvelous works of God in our midst.
What happened in 1531 on a small hill near Mexico City? And fast forwarding to today: How can Mary guide us in our own saying “Yes!” to all that our gentle God is presenting to us.
We gather for prayer, discussion, and periods of silence outdoors; lunch is included.

Saturdays with St. Francis occur once a month, from 10:00am until 2:00pm, lunch included. Brother Mark has designed each Saturday program as a 4-hour reflection time for you. Each monthly Saturday session is like a mini-retreat, long enough to unwind and breathe. Each Saturday stands on its own–with topical themes (this is not a series).
Franciscan values and spirituality are important for anyone attempting to deal with the ups and downs of modern life. There is nothing finer in our fast-paced lives than to take time for your Self…. The pace of our sessions is easy-going and reflective. You can come early and/or stay later to enjoy the prayerfulness of our grounds.
Please mark your calendar for the following date for Saturdays with St. Francis for 2026: September 12; October 10; November 7; December 12. Cost is $40 per person including lunch. From 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
