Advent Retreat: Magnifica Humanitas

In the darkness, anxieties and calamities of our times, this retreat offers an opportunity to “come aside” and lean into Advent for hope, sustenance, and guidance.

These days will rouse our awareness for what Advent ‘s time brings, and carry us deeper into its meanings, that we may ready and open ourselves for God’s coming in our days.

In this retreat, we will:

• Consider ways to prepare and repent as we inch towards celebrating the Incarnation, theMagnifica Humanitas, where divine goodness, love, and humility is revealed, and where, as Pope Leo XIV writes, “the mystery of humanity truly becomes clear.”
• Wait and watch in the wilderness for the truth of ourselves and for God’s disclosure to us
• Listen to the messengers of Advent, (including the cacophony of angelic messengers and heavenly hosts), announcing the Coming, and hear their messages for our times
• Become strengthened, and consider how, we too, can be heralds of Advent hope

 This retreat offers time for silence and meditation, journaling, sharing with other Advent seekers, Eucharist, quiet spaces and places for walking, sitting or just gazing and musing.
