Jean Molesky-Poz, Ph.D.

Jean Molesky-Poz, with Catholic and Franciscan roots, has taught at the University of California, Berkeley and Santa Clara University (SCU) for over twenty-five years. While at SCU, she initiated projects to consider and reclaim St. Clare of Assisi and her charism. She has given retreats and lectures on St Clare nationally and internationally, including workshops to Poor Clare communities. In 2012, on the 800th anniversary celebrating Clare joining Francis and the Lesser Brothers, Jean delivered the keynote to an international, ecumenical gathering at the Basilica of Santa Chiara in Assisi, asking: “What can St. Clare of Assisi offer us for our twenty-first century lives?” She has published a book, articles in America, The Way, The National Catholic Reporter, and is completing a novel. Jean is cofounder of Women in Conversation at Newman-Holy Spirit parish in Berkeley, Ca. She lectures, gives retreats, accompanies others, enjoys her family, friends and neighbors.
