Cancellation policy
Overnight or Multi-day/weekend retreats: $50 fee. Day Retreat: $20. Fees may be applied to future retreats. The fees may be waived in event of extenuating circumstances. Contact Kateri at 925-837-9141 x315.

About the Event

Life can not be without water. From Saint Francis canticle of the creatures, we will do activities around water through all religions. We will create a personal prayer using authentic materials from the 12th and 13th century in the format of an illuminated page. There will be creative ideas on display throughout the weekend. You are welcome to use the material provided and create a piece of prayer art at your own pace.

During these uncertain times, We are offering a sliding scale. Choose the cost that best suits your needs. Costs for the weekend:

$250 per person
$215 per person
$180 per person

Meals are included (Friday evening dinner at 7:00 pm and follow by Friday Evening Prayer at 8:00 pm).
Check in start Friday, July 16 between 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm and Departure on Sunday, July 18 at 1:00 pm.

Joan is a former Adjunct Professor  GTU, Berkeley,  Religion and Art, Additional Education   Loyola Marymount Los Angeles, REC  credit, 2020. St. Joseph of Arimethia  Anglican Seminary Berkeley, CA, Summer Seminary, 2018. She has many other Academic accreditations. She’s been a professed Secular Franciscan for many years and is creative in many different art mediums.

Video grant from Viacom, for the making of a video  entitled : We Are Punished Too. Documentary concerning the families of incarcerated inmates.
Book in progress,  Today I Found an Angel,  the Abbey of Gethsemani, and the project to restore their historic stained glass windows.
Along with Joan’s many accomplishments, she owns her on business. Distefano Studio, an award winning full service stained glass and mosaic studio since 1978.
