About MBSR
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an effective, scientifically researched method for reducing physical and psychological suffering while building resilience, balance and peace of mind. This nonsectarian, evidence-based approach is in harmony with all spiritual traditions and can support contemplative practice. Both those with spiritual backgrounds and atheists/agnostics can appreciate the scientific, clinical foundation supporting MBSR’s effectiveness.
The Benefits of MBSR
Scientific research at medical and research centers around the world suggests that MBSR can positively affect participants’ lives by:
- Developing coping skills for both short-term and long-term stressful situations and physical pain
- Managing anxiety, depression, and burnout more effectively
- Improving focus and resilience with greater capacity to recover quickly from reactivity and challenging events
- Identifying habitual patterns of thinking and cultivating your natural ability for self-care, finding greater ease and peace of mind
Program Format
- Live online class sessions using simple online meeting technology to create connection with participants worldwide
- Systematic instruction in formal and informal MBSR mindfulness practices, including guided instruction and recordings for home practice
- Gentle stretching and mindful movement
- Group dialogue with discussions to enhance awareness in everyday life
- One-on-one check-ins with instructors throughout the course
- Online resource materials, dedicated technical support, and opportunities for feedback

A computer and high-speed internet connection are suggested. Mobile devices such as phones and tablets, while not ideal, are acceptable for sessions.
