A Gentle Space for Your Grief Journey

When grief becomes the unwelcome companion on your path, finding sanctuary matters. Join us at San Damiano Retreat on August 23rd, 2025, for a day dedicated entirely to your healing journey.

In the quiet embrace of our sacred grounds, you’ll find what your heart has been seeking—understanding, connection, and gentle guidance for moving forward while honoring your loved one’s memory.

Moving through grief – one step at a time.

  • Remember your loved one while finding your path forward
  • Focus on your personal healing journey
  • Express yourself in gentle, nurturing ways
  • Understand grief triggers and develop coping strategies
  • Discover hope amidst loss

Your day includes thoughtfully designed group activities, personal reflection time, meditation, shared meals, and meaningful rituals—all within a community that understands that grief is both universal and deeply personal.

Sometimes the bravest step is simply showing up for yourself.

Bruce Parrish
I have been married for over 41 years to my high school sweetheart. Together, we have raised three wonderful children and many beloved dogs. In 1984, we made the significant move from Texas to California, a decision that marked the beginning of many new adventures.
My career has been varied and dynamic. At one point, I decided to venture out on my own and started my own company, where I enjoyed thirteen years of successful business. Over the years, I have continually reinvented myself, exploring new opportunities and launching other businesses.
I have been a long-time member and is now a co-facilitator for the St. Charles Grief Support Group, where I shared my own grief journey with learned wisdom and grace.
In June 2021, I embraced retirement and began enjoying “retired life” by working in the vibrant wine industry. Throughout all the ebbs and flows of life, grief has been a constant companion. This grief has taught me the profound lesson of compassion for others, shaping the person I am today.
