As a distinguished leader in the nonprofit sector, Mary has pioneered programs to engage people – just as they are – in courageous and hopeful change. While serving as CEO of a charitable foundation, she developed a groundbreaking, grassroots initiative to help people build stronger, healthier communities in the rural towns and villages of New Mexico. It continues changing lives today.

Later, as a consultant helping nonprofits build organizational and resource capacity, Mary recognized that “legacy” holds a much deeper meaning for most people than the property we leave behind at the end of life. “As human beings, we long to be seen and understood for all that we are and what we are becoming. We want to know that the value we are creating in our lives will be meaningful to others – that it will be a gift, our true legacy to future generations.”

In the full-day retreat ‘Your Story, Your Legacy: A Full Sensory Exploration’, Mary and her team lead transformational conversations that bridge the spiritual dimensions of life with the practical. They provide insightful and gentle guidance for people to explore the landscape of their lives and discover the qualities that make their life a true gift for others. And, they encourage conversations with loved ones so that their legacy becomes just what they want it to be.

Joining Mary in leading the full-day retreats are Alanna Mack and Kelly Emme, who have traveled the legacy journey with Mary since the beginning.

Kelly Emme

For over 3 decades, Kelly has enjoyed teaching people the joy of movement and the peace that comes from being still. Her classes are an eclectic blend of movement, breathwork, philosophy and meditation.  And of course, no class is complete without the soothing sounds of her crystal meditation bowls!  Kelly holds certificates in yoga and meditation, and is a certified integrative health coach. Since 2012 she has lead retreats combining yoga, meditation, and healthy cooking. She believes true health begins from within – when we nourish our heart, mind and spirit, the body will be well.

Alanna Mack

Alanna is retired from a highly successful practice as a tax CPA.  In her work  with clients on estate and trust tax matters, she found that surviving spouses often feel unprepared to face new – and unexpected – financial responsibilities and realities.  Helping clients understand and manage their finances after the loss of a loved one became a specialty for Alanna. She also has served on exempt organization boards and finance committees, most recently the Franciscan Renewal Center and the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation. Always an avid reader, Alanna’s interests the last ten years have focused on mindfulness and spirituality, and she follows a daily practice of centering prayer and meditation.  Alanna brings to these retreats a wonderful balance of financial wisdom and a spiritual understanding of legacy.
