San Damiano will be offering a monthly series for women (Sisters in Spirit) beginning in January of 2021. Sisters in Spirit (SIS) will be held the following dates with the following topics in mind: Live Zoom from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm.
- Tuesday morning, January 26: St. Elizabeth Ann Seton – The first American saint. She was born in New York. She was married with five children, when her husband died suddenly. She and her children moved to Maryland where she opened a school for girls. She is responsible for bringing the parochial school system in the US.
- Tuesday morning, February 23: Women in Church History – The question of the role of women in the Church is one of the most significant issues facing the Church today. We will examine the statue of women in the early church, take a look at the Pauline perspective of women in the Church, study some women in our Catholic Christian Church history, and even look at a few contemporary women in our history today.
We will look at these women scripturally, historically, and spiritually and find our similarities and or differences. No Bibles or books required, simply your presence and your thoughts and experiences. We will have time to take a break and time for discussion and sharing too.
