CELTIC CONTEMPLATIVE DAY
Facilitated by Joy Evans, MSW
Saturday, October 24, 10am-4pm
Sliding Scale: $50-80 (tickets options: 50, 60, 70, 80)
Spend a day in Celtic contemplation on the beautiful grounds of San Damiano Retreat Center. Inspired by John Phillip Newells’ prayer book for peace, “Praying with the Earth”, a small group (10 or fewer) will come together with the intention of seeing the light of Christ in all beings.
Begin the morning with a 2-3 hour slowly guided walk. Through a series of invitations we will connect deeply with nature and reflect on the impacts of this pandemic. After each invitation we will gather (socially distanced and outdoors) to share from our hearts. We will close our guided time together by walking the labyrinth while accompanied by the sounds of a singing bowl, holding in our hearts the intention of healing our world of all that divides us.
Bring your lunch and spend the afternoon practicing Celtic solitude and silence: being, journaling, praying, or walking the trails. . For the safety of the brothers, staff, and guests, plan to wear a mask during your entire time at San Damiano Retreat Center.
We understand many people’s finances are impacted by COVID-19. This day is offered on a sliding scale, which invites you to pay what you can. We’re grateful for whatever amount you decide. Please wear comfortable shoes; bring a hat and layers to stay warm. The unlikely event of heavy rain will cancel this retreat.
