SILENT WEEKEND RETREATS

San Damiano holds many silent retreats every year. This year is no exception. On June 11-15 is a silent week with Sr. Ishpriya. Your retreat days with Sr. Ishpriya will focus on gathering courage and insight to live a life of joy in these challenging times.

Our summer silent retreats with Fr. Dan Riley, OFM, (July 22-27) & Fr. Cyprian Consiglio, OSB, Cam. (July 27-29) can be attended individually or as a combined 8-day retreat experience. Fr. Dan will focus on becoming aware of the peace that lives within each of us. Fr. Cyprian will focus the weekend on his book: Prayer in the Cave of the Heart.

Consider joining us for a silent retreat experience that will be both prayerful and grace filled. And don’t forget, San Damiano now has air conditioning throughout the center including the bedrooms for those warm summer days.

2012 THEME…
Hungering For Peace

“To have world peace we must first have peace within ourselves. The idea of world peace is attractive but impossible to attain unless each person strives for inner peace. This means opening ourselves to the transforming action of God’s Spirit within us.” (Ilia Delio, OSF) If you are hungering for peace come to San Damiano for a restful, peaceful time.

OUR MISSION…

… is to provide a peaceful environment of natural beauty where people of all faiths and backgrounds may seek spiritual renewal and growth. In the spirit of Sts. Francis and Clare and guided by the Franciscan traditions of joy, hospitality, compassion, peace and simplicity, we offer contemporary and challenging retreats and programs in response to the changing needs of God’s people.

DONATE TO SAN DAMIANO…

We depend and rely on your continued generosity and support for current operations, fundraising events and retreat events. Since 1961, the Franciscan Friars have welcomed to San Damiano those who thirst for a greater connection to God. Through innovative and relevant retreats and spiritual direction, individuals can discover Gospel answers to today’s challenging questions. San Damiano is truly a spiritual oasis. CHRIST THE KING MEN’S RETREAT

Christ the King Parish Men’s  Retreat took place March 23-25. Fr. Aidan McAleenan presented the weekend. It was well attended and the men enjoyed Fr. Aidan’s insights.

OUR AFTERNOON TEA was a smashing success……

THANK YOU to all who prepared and attended this event. We will certainly have another Tea next May. We are, also, planning one for the Holidays in early December.
